MTF Desktop License

The terms for using our fonts are simple. By purchasing a license and downloading a font from Music Type Foundry (“MTF”), you must agree to the following before using any MTF font:

  1. You will be honest. A lot of time and effort have been put into our typefaces. We hope you will appreciate that and be respectful of our work.
  2. You won’t install the font(s) on more devices than the license allows. If you purchase a MTF-Desktop license, please don’t install the fonts on more than four (4) computers.
  3. The files you download are non-transferable—in any form, by any means. Please don’t do it.
  4. Make beautiful scores. We know you’ll put these fonts to good use. If you do something exciting, let us know! We’d love to hear about it!

For complete MTF-Desktop licensing and font usage details, please refer to the official MTF End User License Agreement (EULA).

NOTE: If you happened to receive any similar font files from Abraham Lee  (Leigh Verlag) prior to January 1, 2016, then you may keep and use those files at no extra charge, but know that the fonts are probably not up-to-date and not supported. Their respective licenses may have changed to reflect those found here at Music Type Foundry. The specific license for each font is found on its product page.

Other Licenses

For fonts under a different license, please read the respective license agreement below before using the fonts so you understand what you are and aren’t allowed to do.

If you have any other questions about licensing, or have questions about a custom license (like a larger site license at a university), please don’t hesitate to contact us!
